Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Regarding Antibiotic Use and Resistance Among the General Adult Population in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia

The study aimed to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding antibiotic use and resistance among the general adult population. Out of 562 participants, most were female and aged 18-25. Most had poor knowledge, inadequate attitudes, and inappropriate practices. Misconceptions were common, with 64% believing antibiotics are effective against viral infections and 42.2% unaware of the potential for antibiotic resistance. Postgraduate and marital status were significant predictors of better knowledge and attitudes.
